Pastor Oral Patrick and First Lady Angella Patrick are the founders and senior leaders of Word of Wisdom Church, faithfully serving the Teaneck community for more than 16 years.


Together, they are committed to helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through biblical teaching, passionate worship, compassionate outreach, and authentic community. Their vision is to build a church where individuals and families are equipped to live lives of purpose while making a lasting impact throughout Bergen County and beyond.


Pastor Oral's ministry journey began in Jamaica, where he served alongside his father, the late Bishop Ranford Patrick. After immigrating to the United States, he and First Lady Angella were commissioned into ministry by the late Bishop Zedekiah Mitchell, leading to the founding of Word of Wisdom Church in 2010.


In addition to pastoring, Pastor Oral is the author of Restorative Healing Begins With Rest, sharing his powerful testimony of God's protection, healing, and restoration following the events surrounding September 11, 2001.

The vision of a place where the hurting, depressed, the frustrated, and the confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement.


The vision of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the thousands of residents in Bergen County.


The vision of welcoming thousands of members into the fellowship of our church family: loving, learning, laughing, and living in harmony.


The vision of developing people to spiritual maturity through Bible studies, small groups, seminars, retreats, and Bible school for our members.


The vision of equipping every believer for a significant ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents God gave them.


The vision of sending out hundreds of career missionaries and church workers all around the world, empowering every member for a personal life mission in the world. It is the dream of sending our members by the thousands on short-term mission projects to every continent. It is the dream of starting new daughter churches annually.


The vision of acres of land on which will be built a regional church for Bergen County—with beautiful, yet simple facilities, including a worship center seating thousands, a counseling and prayer center, classrooms for Bible studies and for training lay ministers, and a recreation area.


All of this will be designed to minister to the total person—spiritual, emotional, physical, and social—and set in a peaceful, inspiring garden landscape.
